Sustainability in the Chiba Flour Milling Group<\/span><\/h3>\r\n
\r\n\r\nAs strong proponents of the social significance, philosophy, and direction of the SDGs, we have established a\r\nGeneral Sustainability Plan consisting of the General Sustainability Policy, Priorities and Practical Tasks,\r\nand the Suppliers\u2019 Code of Conduct as guidelines for basic ethical corporate behavior from the three\r\nstandpoints of the environment, society, and governance with the goal of solving society\u2019s problems through\r\nbusiness activities.\r\n\r\nWith this plan, we aim to contribute to the creation of a sustainable society and further improve our\r\ncorporate value while ensuring the Group\u2019s sustainable growth and competitiveness by steadily implementing\r\ninitiatives that are focused on priorities in collaboration with all Group companies.\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n

General Sustainability Policy<\/span><\/h3>\r\n
\r\n\r\nIn order to continue to be essential to our stakeholders, operate in harmony with local communities, and work\r\nin symbiosis with customers, the actions of the Chiba Flour Milling Group, a supportive company that stands\r\nby its customers (as stated in our management philosophy) are guided by the six principles indicated below.\r\nIn the course of day-to-day business activities, we are committed to complying with all relevant laws and\r\ninternal regulations, acting in accordance with social ethics, and contributing to society through the\r\nstable provision of safe, secure, and high-quality products to customers and the creation of new value.\r\n

Actively engage in social contribution activities as a responsible corporate citizen<\/dd>\r\n<\/dl>\r\nAs disclosed in its management philosophy and code of conduct, the true stance of the Chiba Flour Milling\r\nGroup is fundamentally in line with the ideas and principles of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)\r\nadopted at the United Nations Summit in September 2015. Because we are acutely aware of the social\r\nsignificance of the SDGs, we formulated the five Sustainability Priorities indicated below from the\r\nstandpoints of the environment, society, and governance. We are determined to solve society\u2019s problems\r\nthrough business activities by steadfastly putting the Priorities into practice. Suppliers\u2019 Code of Conduct<\/span><\/h3>\r\n
\r\n\r\nThe Chiba Flour Milling Group procures its raw materials in accordance with its Suppliers\u2019 Code of Conduct,\r\nin addition to complying with relevant laws and social norms in all purchasing transactions. All suppliers\r\nare asked to understand and comply with this Suppliers\u2019 Code of Conduct. Furthermore, we ask everyone to\r\nmake sure that their suppliers understand and comply with this Suppliers\u2019 Code of Conduct as well.\r\n

  1. Compliance with laws and social norms\r\nThe business activities are lawful and in full compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to\r\neach country and region where the company operates.<\/li>\r\n \t

Respect for human rights and prohibition of discrimination\r\nThe Company respects human rights and does not discriminate on the basis of creed, religion, age,\r\ngender, or physical disabilities. Additionally, the workers will not engage in any form of harassment,\r\nverbal or physical violence, nor psychological abuse.     \r\n\r\nGroundwater is pumped from deep underground for use as drinking water to reduce the energy required to\r\nsupply water and the burden on the environment and at the same time help secure the infrastructure in\r\nthe event of a disaster.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n

    \r\n\r\nAs a member of the international nonprofit organization Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), we\r\nhave acquired RSPO supply chain certification. Only certified palm-derived materials are used in the manufacturing of our main cosmetic ingredient, Rheopearl, and generally sold products are sold* as RSPO-certified products.\r\n\r\n* Some limited products are sold as not eligible for mass balance management.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n

    \r\n\r\nIn an effort to increase demand and promote the production of locally produced wheat, we developed the\r\nFusanomugi product using only Satonosora wheat produced in Chiba Prefecture. This raw material product\r\nis also used in the bread for school lunches within the prefecture as an effort to contribute to the\r\nregion by supporting food education and the local-production-for-local-consumption model.\r\n
